In the promo video of the show, shared by Kajol on her Instagram handle, she can be seen complaining about how Tanuja used to scold her when she was a child. Tanuja replied saying that Kajol would never listen to her. She said, “She would always be lost in her own world. And if you tell her something, she would stare at you with her big eyes." When show's host Sachin Khedekar asked Kajol if she was scared of Tanuja while growing up, she replied yes. Tanuja then called her a “liar”.

Tanuja married filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee in 1973. They had two kids, actors Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji. Previously, Kajol had revealed that when Tanuja and Shomu got divorced, she was only four-and-a-half years old. Shomu died in 2008, following a massive cardiac arrest.

Last year, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol talked about Tanuja's parenting style and said that she wishes to do as good a job as she did with her own kids. "My mom is amazing. I tell her this also. I am grateful for her upbringing of me. I feel like I am a better person and adult today because of the things she taught me when I was a child. She always spoke to me like she wanted me to be a better adult. If I have done even a quarter of that with my daughter and my son, I think I would have brought up two wonderful kids," she said.

Kajol is married to actor Ajay Devgn, whom she met on the sets of the 1995 film Hulchul. They were recently seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which turned out to be their biggest blockbuster. The two are parents to Nysa and Yug.

Kajol was last seen on screen in the 2021 Netflix film Tribhanga, which also starred Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi. She is currently working on Revathi's upcoming film Salaam Venky. The film was announced in October 2021. Originally titled The Last Hurrah, the film's title was changed when the shooting commenced.
