The chief minister has given instructions to take care of environmental challenges as well that will arise due to the demolition. Strict action should be taken against the culprits of this case, he added.

In line with the CM’s instructions, infrastructure and industrial development commissioner Arvind Kumar issued detailed guidelines regarding the same.

The agency has in the past successfully carried out the demolition of one such skyscraper in Cochin.

The waterfall implosion technique will be used for the demolition, which is considered very useful for demolishing the building in the desired direction as per the design.

Over 3,700 kg of explosives will be used to raze the twin towers. Explosives are being filled in around 9,600 holes drilled in the columns and shears of the skeletal structures of the twin towers for the demolition.

On August 28, at 2:30pm, the 30-storey tower number 16 and 31-storey tower number 17 will collapse in less than 12seconds.
