When Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla revealed why they didn't marry a 'handsome movie star'
Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla in an appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2014 spoke about why neither of them married a Bollywood hero.
Actors Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla in a joint appearance on Koffee with Karan spoke about why they both married outside the film industry. While Madhuri has been married to Dr Shriram Nene since 1999, Juhi has been married to industrialist Jay Mehta since 1995.
The two actors appeared on Koffee with Karan in 2014, when host Karan Johar pointed out that each of them has worked with several top stars, but didn't marry them.
Madhuri said, "With Shah Rukh I've done a lot of work, and with Salman. With Aamir I just did two films... It's just that maybe I didn't like anyone enough to marry them. My husband is my hero." Karan joked that her husband might have become her hero after they met, but she didn't give anyone else 'a shot'. She said, "No," and laughed.
Juhi, meanwhile, admitted that she was wooed by Jay, who sent her flowers and cards and gifts. "I was inundated," she said. "They're all fantastic heroes, but I don't think I could've handled my husband looking into the mirror as much as I would."
She continued, "As an actor you're so full of yourself, and I couldn't imagine I would get married to somebody like that, so I was quite clear."
Juhi has played leading roles in films such as Lootere (1993), Aaina (1993), Darr (1993), Ram Jaane (1995), Deewana Mastana (1997), Yes Boss (1997), and Ishq (1997) Arjun Pandit (1999). She was last seen in 2019's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Madhuri will soon be seen in the Netflix series Finding Anamika.
